Transforming Ambition through Reflective Goal-based Executive Therapy

Why TARGET matters for leaders
Leaders are trained to project clarity, direction, and confidence. The very qualities that make someone effective in a boardroom can become barriers in a therapeutic space — the habit of having answers, the discomfort with ambiguity, the tendency to intellectualise rather than feel. TARGET is specifically designed for this personality. It does not ask you to abandon your analytical mind. It invites that mind to turn its precision inward.
Most high-performing executives arrive at TARGET carrying one or more of the following — often without having named them:
- A sense that despite external success, something feels misaligned or hollow
- Recurring patterns in relationships or decisions that they can see but cannot seem to change
- Mounting pressure, stress, or emotional blunting that they have learned to function through
- Ambitions that feel blocked not by external circumstance, but by something internal they cannot quite identify
- A growing distance between the leader they are in the workplace and the person they want to be
TARGET creates the first structured space to examine these honestly.
What happens in TARGET
TARGET is delivered across two one-hour sessions, designed to move from the surface to the depth in a deliberate sequence.
Session one — mapping the landscape
The first session is diagnostic and exploratory. Dr. Sharanya works to understand you as a whole person — not just the presenting professional challenge, but the broader context of your life, your history, your values, and your patterns. Key areas explored include your current professional and personal pressures, the thought patterns and internal narratives that most frequently drive your decisions, the gap between how you present and how you privately experience yourself, and what meaningful change would actually look like for you.
Session two — targeting the work
The second session moves from exploration to focus. Drawing on the insights from session one, Dr. Sharanya works with you to identify the specific areas — cognitive, emotional, behavioural, relational — that most need attention. Together, you establish clear, honest, and personally meaningful goals that will guide the UPLIFT stage. This goal-setting is not a performance metric exercise. It is a values-grounded process that asks: what would it mean for you to be fully well, fully whole, and fully yourself — as a leader and as a human being?
The holarchical principle in TARGET
TARGET operates on what the Quantum Change framework calls a holarchical process — the understanding that every level of human experience is simultaneously a whole in itself and a part of a greater whole. Rather than fixing a symptom at the surface, TARGET seeks the part beneath the part — the underlying belief, pattern, or dynamic that is generating the presenting challenge. This is what makes the work that follows in UPLIFT so much more effective: you are not working on the right things by accident. You have targeted them with precision.
What TARGET is not
TARGET is not coaching. It is not an executive assessment or a 360-degree feedback process. It does not produce a report, a performance plan, or a set of KPIs. It is a therapeutic process — confidential, non-judgemental, and oriented entirely around your wellbeing and growth. It also does not require you to be in crisis. Many of the leaders who engage with TARGET are functioning at the highest levels of their organisations. They come not because something has broken, but because they sense that something more is possible — and they are right.
